ABOUT US

The St. Clair Heights Citizens Committee was formed by  a group of concerned citizens working together to provide wholesome family activities for all residents of the St. Clair Heights (Birdland) area of Scott Township, PA, near Pittsburgh, PA.

Originally created in 1974, the Committee provided a wide range of community activities in the past.

One of the most beloved is the annual Halloween Parade which continues to this day.

Although the activities and membership have waned in recent years, there is new leadership in the organization and fresh interest in the annual parade. Right now, our main focus is preserving the Halloween Parade, but other activities are being considered for the future such as a movie night in Meadowlark Park and other neighborhood fun.

In 2011,  the title of “Committee” was changed to “Association” to reflect a renewed community spirit and emphasize that all Birdland residents are welcome to participate in the association and its activities.

No matter what the name is, we need YOU

Association membership is open to any full time resident of the St. Clair Heights housing plan, fondly known as “Birdland”.

Meetings are announced publicly on this website and in some form of sign or newsletter.

The committee needs active members to get things done, and welcomes your participation.

To begin,  our primary focus will remain on the much-loved Halloween Parade as a way of fostering community unity and good-will.
